Welcome to Studentfilms.com, the online film discussion forum for filmmakers and students who are applying to film school, attending film school, need advice on making films, or just want to share their films with the world.
We've just launched something that I believe could help quiet a lot of people in production and certainly film students / film schools… Our image bank is a little different from stock footage as it the shots are basically meant to go together… Like a kit. We had the idea of taking all footage from shows we've shot around the world and package all those for people to use themselves. The idea is to make a little research, add a narrator or host to make a full length TV series with shots from Exotic places. Or simply use the footage for filling documentaries or even establishing shots for films. There are some video examples on the website:
All of it is 1080i compressed using ProRes 4:2:2 CODEC... So it's broadcast quality. And since there is more than 10 hours of it, we had no choice but to give the 1TB drive with it... The price is also extremely friendly considering it's 100% royalty free.
If you could tell me what you think about it, give me comments about it and tell me what we could do to make it even more attractive, it'd be very helpful!
Thanks a bunch!

Perhaps you should include a page in the website showcasing ONE FRAME from ALL THE SHOTS that you're selling on this package. I know this would be a hassle to do it, but at least it will be more attractive to potential buyers.
Or you could offer a FREE DVD to whoever is interested. Obviously you would add a watermark to the image and protect your product. This could get expensive for you with shipping and handling.
$1399 is only pocket change for those executive producers who can afford sending camera operators to exotic regions around the world and getting original material. For some of us, $1399 is a lot! We should know what we're getting before opening our check book.

Maybe you could also inform the length of each shot/compilation. For instance, if you have 5 minutes of undersea footage in the Mediterranean or 30 seconds of the Pyramids in Giza, let us know.
Keep us posted on your progress. Good luck!
