We've had SUPERMAN and BATMAN. SPIDERMAN, DAREDEVIL. I think THE HULK will stink, but maybe I'm old and have no imagination any more.

CHARLIES ANGELS, TWILIGHT ZONE, X-FILES, STAR TREK (all of them!). Is there a script shortage out there?

THE AVENGERS was horrible (this could go in the other post). What's next?

(comics)

ARCHIE - Archie gets snubbed by Veronica and in a fit of teenage hormonal rage, has his way with Betty, is prosecuted as an adult and sent to prison where he meets another "Moose". Rated "R".

SGT NICK FURY AND HIS HOWLING COMMANDOES - With no wars going on, Nick and his men become security guards at the Mall of America. Rated "G".

SILVER SURFER - The Silver Surfer (an aging beach bum with white hair) lives in Hawaii at Waimea Bay (sp?) helping to prevent orderlies at the retirement home from putting their hands on the patients' family jewels.

Whats the next TV show to be a movie -

FRIENDS - A bunch of white preppy people spend two hours picking out new curtains for their home.

Maybe I'm being too cynical. I suppose if people pay to see these movies, they'll still make them. It just seems very unoriginal to me!

You're right about those, Kyle - but I didn't forget them! I don't think there is enough room on Chris' server for us to list all the bad remakes!

The funny thing is that they repeat themselves...others have nothing to do with the plot. that list is ridiculously long and uneccesary.

People make stupid movies, well, because....well...

...I don't know why people make stupid movies. I just don't understand why these guys spend so much time on things they think are going to be great, but will FAIL. Are they blinded from the truth? Who said to keep on going? Shoot, I'd quit making it if it started to look like the trailers I've seen so far.

I know I know, I shouldn't be judging the movie before I have seen it. But I can tell you one thing...I'm not going to see The Hulk.

well no matter how bad a comicbook movie gets it will always be more entertaining to me than some big fat jewish weding or blah blah sisterhood, sundance award winning "indie" sexual exploration piece from india......

i think the hulk will actually be pretty cool....
i love the first 2 batman movies,
all of the superman movies,
spiderman, x2 was pretty good.......

but i hate the other batmans, daredevil, punisher, the first x-men, etc.....

It's Eric Bana. He's real famous down here for the work he did on the comedy show "Full Frontal" many years ago.
He won many awards for his role of Mark "Chopper" Reid in the film Chopper. He has also done smaller Australian films such as The Nugget and The Castle and was on a TV show in Australia called There's Something In The Air. I absolutely hated that show. He also had a role in Black Hawk Down and is also in the upcoming film Troy, which also stars Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom, Emilio Estevez and Michael CLarke Duncan.

this is just my opinion but a movie based on the comic book series "Sandman" would be interesting, if they got the right director and a good cast.

Sandman... I saw a few shots of that when they were doing that comic book special on the history channel. I liked the style, but the plot sounded... meh.

I just heard that "Daredevil" was originally intended to be a low budget R-Rated film with high level violence and nudity. But after the success of other superhero films they changed their minds and redid the script making it more suitable for younger veiwers.

Interesting.

I'm personally surprised that there hasn't been a movie version remake of "Three's Company". It's a popular show so the name recognition should attract many due to nostalgia and those who enjoy the Nick at Night reruns. Plus its perfect set up for an outrageous sex-comedy.

Movies based on television shows and comic books are meant to attract a built in audience that is already fans of the original material. The audience is familiar with the name and assume they know what to expect from the movie. It's the same excuse used to explain sequels and using another movie's soundtrack in a trailer.

I have recentlly found out that WETA the same people who did the special effects for the lord of the rings trilogy are planning to do a live action movie based on the controversial anime series neon genisis evangeliconBig Grin!!!!! for those not familar with the series it has enough religious imagery, consperecy, and philosephy to make the matrix look like mere childs play! the i hope they dont make it based on the movie end of engelion because it is in many people opinion everything good about the series gone horriblly wrong. but then agian it would be hard to fit the whole series into a 2 or 3 hour movie. any thoughts?

Oh yeah, well Anno's not involved directly, and I'm pretty sure they said early on they weren't gonna follow the series directly to the t. At first I hated the end of the end of evangelion, but now i like it a lot.

I dunno if they can make it into a two hour movie though. Since it's really about shinji being a nutcase loser and the human complement project, I think they'd have to change a lot to make a decent two hour movie. too much just builds up to the end, and I think it would just end up... anticlimatic.

I think i read somewhere though that anno was impressed with what they came up with so far, saying they're looking at the series in ways he had never thought of before. maybe that's a good sign, but personally i'd be happy if they left the series alone.

it would be pretty hard to fit the whole series in a two hour movie with out leaving stuff out, i hope they dont get ride of any of the religious imagery and such thematic elements that made the series great. well maybe the movie will explain the end a bit better then the series did. but who would they get to play the people?
