I'd have to say the genre I always naturally gravitate to is documentary. I can't help it...it just seems the best, most logical way for me to express my creativity. I figure if I were to round up a bunch of kids pretending to act and bang out a crappy amateur script like most student filmmakers, whatever talent I have would be dwarfed by the glaring imperfections that are arguably inextricable from the student film universe. However, if all goes well, I'll be heading to Emerson soon, where hopefully I can take maximum advantage of being in a nurturing creative environment, and I can unlock that creative side of myself.

I used to do nothing but comedy in high school, but recently I have dabbled in horror and experimental filmmaking. I am trying to mix up the genres I use so I don't get caught in a cycle of making the same type of films over and over again.

I started in comedy. Now I do drama because I feel every other genre branches off of drama. Any genre movie without a vertain amount of drama in it will not involve an audience.

ochopatas, I would also do westerns if I had the props and people to do so, but being as limited as I am with actors and crew, I can't experiment with my favorite genre. I try to put in a shot or two that is an homage to a western so I guess I try to do my part.

I think that to a lot of filmmakers, drama is the most natural genre to shoot, since there's a drama element in pretty much any film, as for what i like to shoot, action, and comedy are my favorites. but drama, is what i do the best with.

I don't set out to make "art" I just try to make something with a beginning, middle, end, and some characters...the art seems to come during the process.

I enjoy experimental films as well as drama.
