first off, i see where you are going with the 60/30/24p thing...here are the q's. Do you need to shoot HD? do you want the overall shoot to be 24 or 30 fps? I'd nix the JVC after all i have read about its lackluster performance. HDV has left a sour taste after most of the reviews i have read. SO personally i'd lean towards the 24p mode on either the dvx or the xl2. I use a dvx, but if i were to spring for a new cam it would definitely be the XL2 right now for its additional features that i think make it worth the extra chunk of change (its $4300 right now on B and H). So that all depends on your needs. How slow are you going, and how much of the video is slow mo? That affects the decision as well. Re: throwing it into your GL2 to dump it in, I havent used a GL2 but i do you a $350 Shard piniDV cam as a deck and have gotten 24p to come out fine (using 24p standard, not advanced - havent had a need to try that yet). Good luck with it!
