Hey everyone. I figure some of you have had experienced searching for a location like this before.
I'm looking for a defunct/abandoned/on-display subway or train car somewhere in NYC. I have a scene in mind where an abandoned train/subway car is being used as a den for homeless people.
I'm obviously looking for a place where insurance/permit issues would be minimum (so the Transit Museum is out of the question).
Any advice, guys?

Are you in film school there? Even if your not, you could maybe call someone at one of the various film-related schools and ask for advice. You will have to make a case for why you are "legit" and "professional" rather than just some dude with a camera.
Try calling a NYC Film Commission, or state film office and see what they say. Sometimes they can help get you in the door.
I'd still say try the museum. The worst thing that will happen is they will tell you no.
Maybe contact a few train companies and see if they would let you in their old lots or something?
