Im trying to save as much money as possible but want a good mic. for booming. I can get the Sennheiser ME66 for $209. and the Audio-Technica for $240. so I was wondering which is better.

Whats the diffrence between short condenser and line/gradient? and Do I really have to by a $300 k6 power adapter for the ME66. or can I use a AA battery like most mics?

Please share some knowledge or experience.

Get the Sennheiser. No question.

you have to buy a powering unit for the me66. The mic is modular and the k6 powering unit is the central part of the mic powering system. you can buy the k6p instead of the regular k6, but it's more expensive and won't accept a AA batt.
