I'm looking for a steadicam for a GL-2 and if it can be upgraded to an XL body and lenses, great. Does anyone here know of a good setup and does the vest really help and by how much?
Last post on this, promise.
Thanks!

Make your own, if possible. Plans are all over the internet, ranging from very simple (30-45 minutes to make) to very complex (fully articulated arm, machined parts, etc.).

The vest is useless without the articulated arm, which generally means a setup that costs at least $1900. There is a company called MagicCam (might be MagiqCam) that makes low-priced setups with full articulated arms that are supposed to be quite good. Glidecam's "body brace" is the worst idea ever - in the handheld stabilizers, your arm acts to absorb most of the shock from walking. Directly connecting it to your body magnifies every move.
