If that store was near me, I would buy it ASAP. Your saving like 500 bucks on just the XL1

well it depends on how much money you have?

If you have enough money to afford a RGULAR NO SALE XL-1.....buy that one for sale......then SELL it on ebay for REGULAR price. Now you've made back some money. Put this towards a BETTER cam like perhaps the DVX or whatever. Then you'll have money left over for other crap.

is it general opinion that the DVX100 is better? what does it offer the others don't?
A large camera store in downtown Portland OR, sold the GL2 all last spring for @ 1500-1700 $$
thats without the rebate going on now. I can't remember the name of the place but if you call @ there its pretty easy to find. There is also no tax there. I know they were saying that was the price for just the plain body no add ons so I may be missing something I dunno.

if you can afford and xL-1, GET ONE.

There is clearly nothing else to think about, they have interchangable lenses. They shot 28 days later on it. THERE IS CLEARLY NOTHING ELSE TO THINK ABOUT. It's the best camera Ive ever used. I like it more than the 24p myself. xL-1's are alot sturdier.

Well canon is working on a XL2 now so if u wanna wait till that comes out the xl1s will be a lot cheaper. Although who knows when they will release it.

I would get the XL1. From personal experience I can say it's a more versatile and sturdy setup. I also think it will simply give you a better image.
