I want to film a scene were someone gets out of the shower and I want to capture steam on the mirror and so forth, how do i capture this without fogging up my lens?

You should be fine if you bring the camera into the bathroom just before you shoot. The lens hood should keep most of the steam away from the lens.

And, some sort of ventilation would probably help to clear the bathroom out between takes. A fan pointing out the window would probably do it.

Thank you joren for the info. I need to shoot this shot this weekend and It dawned on me while watching cravens "nightmare on elm street" and seeing nancy in that cool bathtub scene. I didnt know if they used real steam or dressed up the mirror with make up (so to speak).

or you can just use the steam setting on an iron.

just steam it up onto the mirror. that way you don't have all this moisture in the room, just on the glass in the mirror.
