I have to have a composition with people walking past a window illuminated with neon lights in the background CoolMy only trouble is that with my JVC GD90 camera I can only set the exposure down to eliminate the noise, but the resulting images of people walking past the windows, is to dark to with no detail.

Can you light the people from other sources, and just let the neons hang in the background? You can probablly find a gel combination to match most colors.

As you well know, neons don't have a lot of output. The only time I had to rely on them to illuminate anything but themselves I cracked out the 800t and pushed it a stop (This was before the days of Vision 2).

If you're absolutely reliant on the neons lighting the scene around them you'll have to find a faster video camera or better yet (If you can afford it), use a fast film stock.

Thanks nota for the suggetions,my aim is to have the subjects framed in M.C.U. AND M.W. 2 SHOTS as they walk past the windows @ night.
My ultimate aesthetic goal is to have the shadow area on their faces to be washed out a bit by the neon light.

oh yeah! The interior lights of the building give good seperation of the subject from the B.G. I was definitely gonna use key light and I was thinking about using some type of fill light that is compatible with the neon lights. If someone could clue me in on how to post a picture I will put one up.

thanks nota!
