So I recently started working with a friend of mine who works with venues around his area filming bands and putting the media both on youtube and streaming it live to Stickam.
The main venue has some good switching gear and such however we don't have great cameras and so they offered to buy us two professional camcorders to get a better result.
They said we could spend about 2 - 3,000 Dollars on each camera and we want to broadcast HD flash so 1280p x 720 is a minimum standard. We have a switcher which probably has BNC connections for inputs so we would like a camera that works with that if there's something in that price range.
I was looking into the Sony HDR-FX7 and Sony HDR-FX1000, both of which would work great for the youtube shoots but I'm not sure either would plug into an older style analog switching console. I would love to get a Sony HVR-Z5U but it seems a little high in price for the company to buy for us...
My idea of setting up the live show to stickam would be to feed the two - three cameras all into the switcher and feed one of the outputs of that switcher to a laptop computer which would use Flash Live to stream out.
Any suggestions on which cameras to get would be great, thanks.
