Looking for a suggestion for a semiprofessional camera in the $1000-2000 range.

I'm looking to do student shorts for the best look I can get in this price range.

A) What brand? Panasonic dvx 100b still the best choice as of May 2010?

B) Stupid question but here it goes....I want to distribute primarily on the internet. But burning to DVDs would also be nice. I understand HD camcorder models are considerably more expensive. If I get a SD camcorder, this would mean I could show my work on the internet but not really burn to a DVD because of the HD conversion for TVs in the past year? No HD camcorder, no chance of showing work on your average television now? If I got a SD semiprofessional camera, the primary method of distribution would be internet videos. Am I right about this or no?

Thanks!!!

being someone who only has a Canon Vixia HF R10 camcorder I can't really talk, due to the camera only being 500. Right now, I'm looking at getting the Panasonic AG-HMC40. It records to SD cards and it's in HD.

HD can pretty much be used by everyone.

Would you care for a bit of the old "Ultra-Violence"?
