I was looking online at some of the more "pro" steadycams and came across a company named Glidecam. Has anyone ordered any of their products? More importantly, has anyone purchased the Glidecam 4000 Pro? I'd like to hear some feedback from people that have worked with the 2000/4000 series.

I used to have a glidecam 2000 for my Canon GL1 and it was simply amazing. The shots that I could get (especially when running) were extremely smooth. Of course nothing compares to a dolly, but it was definitely worth the investment. I sold it a few months ago on ebay because I'm saving up for a Glidecam 4000 for my DVX100a (because it's a heavier camera).

I've used the Glidecam 2000. They are fairly well-made, and somewhat cheaper than the Steadicam Jr (which is partially plastic and not that great). Like any true stabilizer, it requires some time to balance properly and learn how to use. I recommend the wrist support if you're using a normal size camera (GL2/DVX100/etc).
