What is the kind of connection used witht the Canon AE-1 SLR cameras? I have 6 lenses for that but canon seems to be doing their own thing.

For a better look

Im having some trouble loading the film correctly. It seems like the collection spool doesnt want to collect the film. Its just going all over the place.

Is it a plastic spool? If so, don't use those.

You did insert the film end into the takeup reel, right? You need to put it in the slot and wind it once or twice to make sure it will stay.

You get the spool after you finish shooting one roll, which provides the spool for the next one, and so on.. if you don't have one to start with try eBay. Don't pay more than $3-4. Ideally you'd have several so if you have more than one camera they can all be loaded simultaneously. I probably have 6-7 extra.
