Whenever I capture video (in 720x576 resolution for TV production) from a DV camcorder through FireWire card, I find that the quality of video deteriorates; and the video is saved in some compressed MPEG format. Is there any way to capture video through FireWire card in UNCOMPRESSED digital format? Or can anyone suggest me one good FireWire capture card which gives extremely good results. How about firewire card "Firewire 800/400 Combo PCI Card" manufactured by "iogear" (www.iogear.com)?

Try to use DV or DV stream or something like that as the format if at all possible. MPEG sucks.
