I'm currently looking into purchasing a decent and pretty professional camera for my films. But i'm debating whether to buy a digital camera like a XL1 or DVX100 or a professional 8mm camera from pro8mm.com. I would go for the film camera, but I just wanted to know what you guys had to say. Also, have any of you purchased anything from pro8mm, and if so, how's the equipment? Worth buying? Good look?

Thanks

This im sure is going to turn into a huge debate im sure....there are also plenty of this exact topic if you do a search, basically film is still the medium to use if you have the cash and experience to use it. The costs are much more with film development and cost of stock and all. Also not being able to see what you just shot till days later is another reason many of us not pro's go with the dv's. Basically DV makes shooting easier. It might not have the same exact look(many will argue both ways on this) but its much easier and cost efficent. So its basically up to you. Do you have the means and knowledge, then you will do just fine with the 8mm
