Okay, our production group is grouping together to buy a nice videocamera in the next few months and were split of wheter to get the GL2 or the DVX100. The problem is we can get together around $1500 to get the GL2 ASAP whereas $2700 would take a few more months.

Yeah both thoses prices sound WAY to low. Hit www.pricegrabbers.com run a search for each and then read ALL the shops reviews. $2,700 instead of $3,000 does you no good if you never get your camera for the lesser price.

I would have to say the DVX seems to be a better long term investment since the technology put into it is newer than the GL2 but it depends on whethere or not you can wait (and if you guys can share)

We would like a camera that would last us a good 4-5 years. I personally would like to go for the DVX mainly because it seems like a better investment for long term use. Then again, correct me if I'm wrong, the Gl2 just had a huge pricedrop because the xl2 is coming out soon. So for a small film group that can put out some damn good shorts which one should we shoot for?
