Frown I'm a camera newbie, sortof--

A few months ago my camera read that it needs head cleaning, I'd changed tapes to film on a small music video production (that didn't finish), anywho TODAY when I put my regular DV tape (it was full so I rewound a bit) into my mini DV cam (JVC), and recorded, it said it was recording...

So I finish recording my bro play guitar, I was just playing around to test out Camera - VCR editting, and when I go to rewind and press play on my camera, it shows the regular blue screen... apparently I didn't record...

I tried it numerous times and still the same results, even my previous footage was gone.

So was it the camera or the tape that was screwing up? I mean the camera said it was recording. Oh and I accidentally touched the back part of the loading device, the thing that pops out to which you insert your mini DV tape.

It may or may not have recorded. You should either get it cleaned at a shop (mucho expensive) or buy a head-cleaning tape and follow the directions exactly (careful, these things can ruin the camera if used improperly). Then try playing that bit back.

Also, try not to switch tape brands, as that is part of what causes this problem.

Thanks for the advice, my teacher said he had said tape and would run it in my camera.

I must now claim vengeance on that production group... and it was -40 when we shot lol Cool Frown
