An Emerson student film production is looking for talented actors and actresses for its neoclassical gothic adaptation of Euripedes' Medea.

Guaranteed screening at local venues and will be submitted to festivals as a segment of a student-directed greek myth anthology (much like in the format of Paris Je'taime)

In need of two lead roles:

MEDEA (25-35)
distinctly foreign, intelligent and charismatic woman who is socially isolated from her husband's culture and community - when her husband breaks their vows and leaves her for a woman of a higher status, she is heart broken but seeks ultimate revenge. She has the capacity to and sacrifice for love.

JASON (25-35)

a renoun ambitious hero who left his wife to marry another for power. Has the inherent ability to seem down-to-earth and charming, but his greed, ego, and inconsiderate actions lead to devastating consequences.

Supporting Roles (nonspeaking):

SON (1-3) Medea and Jason's 2 year old child with a cherubic appearance -
has one voiceover line and the actor will NOT be involved in any violence
during the shoot.

MEDEA'S FATHER (40-50)

KING (40-50)

PRINCESS (20-35)

MEDEA'S BROTHER (20-35)

Extras:

Celebration Hall guests

Guards

Attendants

Midwives

Casting Calls will be held on Tuesday, March 16th
7-11pm at a location 150 Boylston St. Rm 232, Boston, MA 02116.

The film shoot will take place May 6-9 and weekly rehearsals for leading roles will be held after March 22nd.

Please send your headshot, resume, and time preferences for the casting call to medeagreekproject@gmail.com - we will notify you about the location of the casting calls through our confirmation e-mail. (Extras do not need to send a headshot but please let us know of your interest through e-mail).

Thank you!
