Actors are needed for a short student film being shot on Long Island. The film will be shot over three weekends (10/30-11/1; 11/6 -11/8; 11/13-11/15) but most roles other than the lead will only require about two shooting days. Actors will be reimbursed for transportation expenses and given a DVD copy of the finished film.

Synopsis:

Ashlyn, entranced by a highly romanticized image of her parents love story, is constantly disappointed at the way relationships pan out in the real world. She has completely given up on love when a similarly impulsive and romantic stranger enters her life-- by stealing her car.

Characters:
ASHLYN: Lead / Female / All Ethnicities / 18 - 26 years
Description: Ashlyn is a highly romantic, somewhat shy girl. Throughout the film she goes from being a complete optimist to a reclusive cynic and back again.
The film spans from Ashlyn's teen years into her early twenties, so actress must have the physical appearance and acting ability to play both ages.
Must be comfortable with a kissing scene. (Very brief and chaste.)
Must be able to drive a car.

JACK: Supporting / Male / All Ethnicities / 20 - 26 years
Description: Jack is impulsive and romantic. He is only just learning that his rash decisions can hurt others as well as himself.
Must be comfortable with a kissing scene. (Very brief and chaste.)

JOHN: Featured / Male / All Ethnicities / 21 - 26 years
Description: Ashlyn's father in a flashback. Pursues Belinda with an innocent eagerness, even when she seems to reject him. Hopeful, thoughtful, and friendly.

BELINDA: Featured / Female / All Ethnicities / 21 - 26 years
Description: Ashlyn's mother in a flashback. Reclusive and somewhat abrasive, fears disappointment. She is more touched by John's show of affection for her than she wants to let on.

ANTHONY: Featured / Male / All Ethnicities / 15 - 19 years
Description: Intelligent and fairly popular teenager and Ashlyn's high school boyfriend.
Must be comfortable with a kissing scene. (Very brief and chaste.)

ANTHONY'S MOTHER: Background / Female / All Ethnicities / 40 - 60 years
Description: Somewhat overprotective mother. Disapproves of Ashlyn's pursuit of Anthony.

COP: Background / Male / All Ethnicities / 25 - 45 years
Description: The cop that guards Jack's cell.

ASHLYN'S FRIEND: Background / Female / All Ethnicities / 15 - 19 years
Description: Ashlyn's high school best friend.

ANTHONY'S FRIEND: Background / Male / All Ethnicities / 15 - 19 years
Description: Anthony's high school best friend.
