Where I live there have been alot of ads for this movie called "The Proposition" which looks like a pretty cool western (one of my favorite genres), so I ask you; Has anyone here seen it? And if so was it any good?

I saw this movie at the most recent sundance film festival, and it was the best one I saw there. I highly suggest going and seeing it.

does it have that spaghetti western-ish feel to it?

I really want to see this but I live out in the suburbs and must drive and hour and a half to get to Philadelphia, and they aren't even playing it yet. At least they just put in an arthouse theater in Reading so I can watch a couple indie movies before they hit DVD.

Just saw it, and I highly reccomend it. Everything was excellent about this movie; the screenplay, the cinematography, acting, direction, etc. If you're able to go see it, do so, you won't regret it.

By the way, to answer your question Harmonica, it does have that spaghetti western feel to it but seems very modern at times too. (Oh and don't go see this if your not big on violence.)

I saw it last night and really enjoyed it. The fact that it took place in the Outback gave it a very different feel considering the landscapes were different from the american west. The only issue I had was that the only other person in the theater(other than my girlfriend) started snoring part way through the movie. What a jerk!

It was a 9:50 showing on a Thursday night, not exactly prime moviegoing hour.

Is an Australian film funded by the FFC and co-produced by a British company. Filmed in a town called Winton in Western Queensland.

Did poorly in the local box office because of its violence. Its great to do it getting a good response offshore.

Basically imagine a western film set in Australia's outback. Quite a visually stunning film. I would go so far as to say, haunting in places. Very good film.

I can't believe, as an Australia who has long loved the Western genre, I have not seen this yet. Why do our films (Australian) get so poor treatment from local cinemas.
I'm going to rent it this weekend.

I saw this movie just now on DVD. Am I the only one who wasn't affected by it? It was good, not great. Seemed aimless, and the violence wasn't even close to as bad as everyone claims.

Unforgiven seems like the movie this movie was trying to get at with its themes. At the end of this film, when he shot his brother, I sort of went "So what?"

I am so excited to see this movie. Nick Cave wrote it. Nick Cave, one of the coolest human beings on the whole planet. It has to be good.

Just saw this today, and I would describe it as a Pulp Fiction of the west. Perhaps better. It's a haunting tale of redemption and barren brutality. Unbelievable film. Tremendous acting, wonderful direction, just a real piece of good film. Definately reccomend it to the Western-lover or movie lover. Everyone actually.
