It is amazing. Now with the Matrix sequel out right now, this is a futuristic movie that involves guns that will put you in the same mood that The Matrix does. But that is where is stops being like the Matrix. It actually annoys me when people compare the two movies.
Anyway, Equilibrium has zero originality when it comes to the story itself. The plot is a mix between 1984, Farenheight 451, and Brave New World. But it's all in the delivery baby! This movie kicks so much ass on so many levels. It stars Christian Bale, Taye Diggs, and has a small role by Sean Bean (Boromir from LOTR).
I don't feel like explaining the plot in detail, but let me tell you, this movie is worth buying. Go and get it right now. Since Dimension is a tool and didn't push this movie at all, Equilibrium made no money in the box office and the DVDs for it are scarce. All the stores in my area for Equilibrium have sold out. I honestly feel that this movie will turn into one of the biggest cult films of all time, next to Boondock Saints.
The action in this is incredible. The feel of the movie is great. The acting is great, and although it is borrowed, the story is very cool. As opposed to the Matrix, Equilibrium has little or close to NO slow-motion. In fact, the action tends to be sped up in some parts. The action involves a fighting technique called gun-kata, which is a mix between guns and martial arts. It's so cool, you just have to see it for yourself.
I recommend this movie to ANYBODY who enjoys great action and acting. Don't pass this one up. Go look for it. It won't let you down, I promise. (if it does let you down, I don't understand why, but I'm sorry)

I was gonna post a similar statement up after I saw it but never could peice together what to say. It's a great movie and it was well made.
No matter if the story was told in 300 books or 1 it took a basic storyline and twisted it in a fantastic way. Film is visual storytelling and Equilibrium did a perfect job of telling this story visually. If you like great fight/gun fight scenes buy it. If you love good acting buy it. If you love fun entertaining movies buy it.
If I ever have two guns in my hand I know exactlly how I'm gonna use them now. Christian Bale(spelling?) is still the man.

Yeah, fun little flick. I enjoyed it. I thought the "gun-kata" thing was going to bug me, but they did a pretty good job with it. I am, as of now, 10 minutes into watching it with the director commentary. Sounds like they did alot of gurilla film making. If you like well stylized gun, and sword play be sure to pick it up. R. M.

If anyone would like to know a little more detail about the film, Arrow in the Head website just posted a review up for it. Here's the link: http://www.joblo.com/arrow/equilibrium.htm
Again, I strongly urge everybody to watch this movie.
