i remeber when that came out in theaters, i wanted to really go and see it but i didnt get there the first weekend, and then the next weekend it was gone already, I think you can find it out in video stores.
I saw it when it was first released and then again when it was re-released in independent theaters for oscar consideration. Probably one of the best films I saw last year.

I saw this way back last year when it came to San Francisco for the first time and again just a couple weeks ago. My friend originally told me about it and I remember not being terribly interested because he hadn't really told me what it was about.
Oh lordy, it's so good. I'm happy that Return of the King is finally getting it's dues and all, but there's a teeny-weeny part of me that wants to see City of God snatch some of those more interesting awards. Best Director? That would be insane.
A good movie for people who like stories about crime, the effects that poverty can have on a city, and for fans of good movies in general.

I recently saw this movie and was blown away. The direction was stunning and it really opened my eyes to the poverty of the slums of Rio. A stunning masterpiece and has made me more aware of world cinema.
Mindblowing. I actually saw this movie in late 2002, but along with Return of the King and Kill Bill Vol. 2, one of the best movies I have seen recently.
