It worked for the first five minutes (up to the title card) but for two-plus hours it felt like too much. He could have integrated the 'trailer-time' with a more 'normal' pace.

I just got back from seeing it. I perused this thread just now. I refused to read it until I watched it.

I thought it was very good. Scorcese definately left some vivid images in my mind (and not the shocking ones) which is one thing I always ask myself after a film.

Something didn't quite seem right to me though. Im having trouble placing it at the moment. Ill probably go see it again since I enjoyed it, but Id also like to figure out whats bugging me about the film.


On a side note, since we're somewhat having a light hearted discussion about the oscars (light hearted is prehaps the only way you discuss the oscars), I would LOVE to see the new Bond film win best picture.

And yes, Im actually serious.

I really liked this film. The more I see of Scorsese the more I like. His best film is still "No Direction Home" though.
