That makes a lot of sense man. If you are going to argue something, think about it before you do so. And another thing...insulting the mods is not a good idea buddy. So don't do it.

This is unbelievably insulting and offensive. We make decisions based on the interest of the forum, not our own. If you have a problem, contact us about it, but don't go around comparing us to Nazis. I am saying that i'd rather hear the annoying comments of Bigmovie. Indeed they were pointless and stupid and aggitated the hell outta me, but i still dont think that the posts should be deleted and everytime he protests you delete those too. Which brings me to my next point, I feel completely justified in comparing the moderators to the SS in that instance. You guys came in, shut him down, and tried to erase any evidence that those posts even existed. It does make alot of sense and it was thought out and based on my beliefs that these boards should be as democratic as possible, with the exceptions of trolls and flamers, who lower the quality of the environment. Bigmovie did nothing but take up space and offer his opinions in a relatively non offensive manner. If my point of view makes me unwelcome here then so be it, I stand behind my comment.

That's a well thought out statement.

But what the mods are saying is, approach them directly, don't make a scene in front of everybody.
Name calling is not necessary. Tell them your concerns in a logical, well thought out statement and they will be inclined toward your opinion. They may not agree, but they will listen.

I personally feel that Big Movie should have been allowed to keep his opinion posted unless he was offending anybody, but I'm not calling the mods on it publicly. I was going to write a personal statement to them, but since we're all here, let's get it done now.

Agreed Forsaken. In retrospect I should have brought up my concerns in private first before bringing my fight to the street. Name calling was not the intention, that was just the most appropriate term i could think of at the moment. It wasn't even meant to bring about allusions to the Nazi's, even though of course it would, it was more in refrence to what happened to bigmovie.

It repulses me that you would say such a thing without even knowing what you're talking about. The SS were a special police force in Nazi Germany founded as a personal bodyguard for Adolf Hitler himself and as an administration group for concentration camps. Forgive me, but I fail to see the correlation between that and what you described.

Know what you're talking about before you say things like that. It'll make it less embarrassing for you.

Particleman, Making references to a group of Nazis that slaughetered millions of people is degrading. We're not saying you can't have an opinion and state that opinion, but we ARE saying that insults like that are not welcome in the studentfilms.com community. There were better ways that you could have stated your opinion AND not only would you have gotten the members of the forums' respect, but you would have been taken more seriously by the administration of the board.

I hope you will understand where we are coming from here and I know you're willing to cooperate from now on.

Oddly enough i'm not embarrassed at all. The SS, along with Himmler, were not only responsible for the concentration camps but served as the German police units, often called the secret police. This in turn means they were largely responsible for quieting Hitler’s detractors and determining the law, which is where I draw the parallel. I apologize for using such a strongly charged word to describe this situation, which I see as a massive abuse of power. I don't want to argue the semantics of the term, and I would rescind it if I could, as it is taking attention away from the real issue; the "unexplained" deletion of non inflammatory posts.
