This was a very interesting film. I really like the high school teen alienation film genre and this fit it to a tee--the climax of the film is even at their prom. But it was very interesting to place it in the subculture of born again christians. It was obvious the director/writer (who wrote this as his thesis script at Tish) really respects born agains, yet he has some serious questions about them, and organized religion in general. I liked the ending because it ended with everyone more comfortable with their personal faith (and didn't have everyone renounce their religion, which would have been the obvious choice), but I also hated the ending because it was just too damn happy and everything was resolved too well (not enough loose ends). Definitely worth a watch, though.
Anyone else see it?

awesome flick. it's such a poignant critisism of christianity. i used to go to a school exactly like the one in the movie so i can totally relate to all that stuff.
