Just receently saw this for the first time and I thought it was great. It won an Oscar for Best Picture back in 1920something. Really cool film, despite the bad VHS quality. I'd say it ranks behind Saving Private Ryan and Platoon as my third favourite war movie of all time.

amazing film, esp for its time. doesnt comparet to the book though, i really recommend everyone read it. stuff in it is more horrifying and graphic then even the opening of saving private ryan.

Yah, this movie is amazing, finally someone else has seen it. Easily second best to Band Of Brothers.

Yeah, I just read the book recently, and I agree its a great read.
