Awarded 4 stars by Roger Ebert, Kinyarwanda is a film that beautifully brings closer the human faces of daily life during the Rwandan genocide of 1994. From the World Cinema Dramatic Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival in January to its award-winning run on the festival circuit, this film has grown a movement of dialogue around forgiveness, faith, reconciliation, and the common bonds – and common ground -we all share as human beings.
This Friday, December 2nd, Kinyarwanda will celebrate its theatrical release in seven cities simultaneously: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, Philadelphia and Washington DC, distributed by theAfrican-American Film Festival Releasing Movement (AFFRM). All of our enthusiastic support at the box office over the opening weekend will give Kinyarwanda’s message of forgiveness and reconciliation - between family members and friends, Muslims and Christians – a chance to spread to smaller venues across the country as well. We would love for you to spread the word among your networks, neighborhoods, workplaces and faith communities to encourage others to come out and see this beautiful, inspirational and encouraging film this weekend.

We all have much in common, and the lesson of seeing the people around us, and around the world, through each other’s eyes is a lesson with powerful potential. You will leave the theater uplifted and inspired!
