Hey, just curious, what are some of your guys' favorite movie trailers? What do you think is an excellent representation
of promotion and editing techniques, while at the same time not telling the story in the film, but drawing audiences to see
more?
Two trailers stick out in my mind as some of the best, and I thought were edited beautifully...
Chicago Men
In Black II
One of the worst trailers Ive seen recently, however, is the one for that new Peter Pan movie.
So..
what you guys think?
BTW, the best place to view all movie trailers from the latest upcoming films to archived trailers
as far back as the early ninties, go to:
I liked the Trailers for Pearl Harbor (teaser), The Mask of Zorro, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers to name a few. The
first Matrix trailer also was good.
As for recently, I really liked Hildago's trailer and Open Range.

I just read this article on Kill Bill that sounded horrible. Not so much the movie, but Mirimax's handling of it. They're
cutting it into two parts and releasing them separately because Quentin didn't want to cut anything out of his 3-hour-plus
script. Damnit, Miramax...
I would definitely say that Pearl Harbor had one of the best trailers I have ever seen before. If the movie lived up to the
power of that trailer, then it could have been something great, but alas...
We can't stop here, it's bat country!

yeah, i read that too, i don't really wanna pay twenty bucks to see the WHOLE movie...but i will.
best trailers: charlies
angeles: full throttle (the one with AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" was really well done and edited. I don't wanna see the movie,
but the trailer made it seem cool)
Bad Boys II (Most the trailers for this movie look cool, i also don't wannasee the
movie considering one preview played a long sequence of that car chase on the highway where all the cars crash. big mistake
showing too much, i might have seen it if they didn't show most the scene)
Kill Bill (because Quentin Tarantino kicks
ass, that's why.)

As stated before, the Kill Bill trailer was the ****t! Uma Thurman can kick my ass anyday...but any trailer that A) doesn't
give away the whole plot B)over emphaisizes little parts (like the Spy Kids 3 one which makes George Cloonly look like the
star) or C)is drawn out and boring. Trailers should hit you hard with action (not all the action) and be set to good music.
It needs to leave you wanting more.
I'll
tell what Uma Thurman can do to me anyday, she can su-
Yeah, if you even watch the "Pulp Fiction" trailers you'll
notice that it makes it seem as if the movie is an action movie...but it's not. It's all in the music, selection of dialogue,
and scenes. Pulp Fiction trailer was scored to the title music "Misirlou" by Dick Dale and it totally made the whole thing
just exciting to watch...you hear the song, Samuel L. Jackson yelling, and people just walking around...the music choice is
important.
Kill Bill will be different though, QT isn't trying to disguise his movie, it's gonna be totally awesome
with action and shi t

Pearl Harbor had excellent trailers and editing. I loved the Black Hawk Down trailers as well, I coudlnt get that damn Moby
song out of my head. I thought Bad Boys II had a good trailer, it really got the mix of laughs and action down perfectly. Oh
and major props to Matrix Reloaded, you almost didnt make it look like the ****tacular piece of ****in **** that ****ty excuse
for a film it was.

Memento is probably one of my favorites. The whold semi-second word flashes were kind of neat, and I liked the way the tension
climbed up, exploded, then became bizarrely calm. MEMENTO RULES.

damn that one kicks ass, seriously
cant wait to see the movie
Aarrrrggghhhhh! I hate these films! It says on the cover for the original
"No mercy, no shame, no sequel"
No sequel! NO SEQUEL! And now they've made two of them! Arggggh!
Anyways, back
to the original question, I like the trailers for Gladiator, Road to Perdition, Catch Me if you can and Ned Kelly, but theres
plenty more out there I could name!

I personally love this Resident Evil 2 teaser being shown before Underworld. I guess it helps that I've been wanting to see
this movie since the last one ended. Typically I don't like teasers because they're usually way too short with little footage
of anything; but, I do like teasers like the RE2 one because they at least created orginal footage for it and it was the length
of a normal trailer. As far as actual trailers, couldn't tell you, they're the best thing ever until the movie itself comes
out then they're long forgotten.
