I just got back from Phone Booth. DEAR GOD that movie kicked ass. It kicked so much ass that... well... I can't think of a clever metaphor right now, but just remember that it kicked ass.
I know it's early in the year and that this movie will probably soon be forgotten by all the Hollywood people but.... best editing and best original screenplay nominations. That's my prediction.

i was enraged when i heard this movie was delayed back in november (stupid ****ing sniper paranoia) and wanted to see it even before the first sniper shooting. hope ppl don't think its just using the sniper thing to gain fame cause its not. to simply put it: this film is so good that you almost (not quite) forgive joel schumacher for all of the poor films he has made. and that is saying alot.

This film is freakin' amazing. I can forgive Shumacher for Batman/Bad Company with this. It's THAT good.

Ya, shame its early in the year for oscars to remember.

Defintely the best of the year so far, and one of my favorites.

i think one of the best things that this film accomplished was that even though it fell into a very stereotypical and predictable group in retrospect, I don't even notice that it fell into. Sutherland is great even though he is not seen.

What's so great about this movie? To me looks just like another stupid action/suspense thriller with bad acting and a bad script that's supposed to be good because they use a lot of big words. I'll consider seeing it on video if someone can give me a good reason to see it.

It turns out the writer behind "Phone Booth" actually ripped-off the concept off of a short film called "End of the Line"

I emailed the cinematographer who shot the short back in 1995 and this is what he said:

Yes, the studio ripped off the film (it was actually the writer), but this issue is already going to court in the near future, so don't worry, they will pay dearly soon enough. Thanks for your interest

the short is pretty good by the way...its up on IFILM right now

The film was okay I suppose...I wish I had waited to see it on video though. Too many unreal situations like th crowded crime scene in the very end. Bla Bla...they kinda screwed the pooch on that one. Not an Oscar contender at all.

3 out of 5 stars.

Oh and the opening of that film sucked so sooo sooo bad. Why the hell did some narrator talk about phones for 5 minutes and tell me that certain phone booth was going to be torn down????? Who cares, it did nothing for the characters or the plot...All it did for me was confuse me and inform me that tons of people use cell phones and pay phones in New York.

Besides filming, the only other thing I ever did good was filming.
