I hate myself for taking so long to get around to seeing this film.

It was amazing. Literally the most perfect, precise direction...I have ever seen. I was seriously going insane watching it....Jean-Pierre Melville didn't make one mistake with this film. It's the epitomy of perfect direction, and I know I'll never be that good of a filmmaker. Never.

Agreed, I love the New Wave, its so superior to any period of filmmaking ever. While not my favorite from the New Wave, this is an incredibly skillfully and well made picture. Breathless is still my sentimental favorite, but this is right up there. Great thread.
