The main annoying thing about the "classics" is being told you should think they're genius... I don't have to think anything. I saw Casablanca, my dad was telling me the whole time how the color contrast were symbolizing things, and how ironic scenes are, how defiant it is the played the french nat.anthem... it's like shut up. I'm going to think what i want of this film don't tell me this should be a "great" in my mind.

Anyway, it was alright... I found the people to be acting to unrealistically, like whole time I could tell these people are acting. The ending was very hollywood, blah.

Yo all can think what you want of it, that's my verdict (possibly because I'm still recovering from having Wuthering hgts, gulliver's travels and hamlet shoved down my throat and nailed into my head as greatness. Maybe it's because I had to hear a robert Rodriguez lecture.)

Casablanca is overrated. People only remember the ending (which is really good), but pretty much nothing else. The whole middle part is repetitive and sort of empty. It's certainly a good movie, maybe even great because of its 2 main stars, but I don't think it's top 10 or even 20 ever material. It had more of a "Titanic" effect on people, so I think thats why it seems so everlasting in our culture.
