I've honestly been away from the movie house for the most part this year. (Home viewing can be so much cheaper.)

I believe Bertolucci's "The Dreamers" qualifies as this year. That film is amazing.
Also:
Coffee and Cigarettes
The Story of the Weeping Camel
Fahrenheit 9/11
Garden State
Super Size Me

To my surprise, I thought that "The Terminal" was fairly good. It's a rather European concept, if you think about it.

I fell asleep during "The Bourne Supremacy." They replaced character development with car chases. Yawn.

I'm still hesitant to see Kill Bill Vol. 2 after that first abomination. I'm told we actually get a story in the second half. That would be swell.

Wow. I'm surprised you said The Girl Next Door, Imperial. I just saw that last night. Good little flick. It's one of those movies that falls into my "Fun movies to watch" list. It was REALLY funny, imho, and Elisha Cuthbert is one of the hottest girls on the face of the planet. I love her.

Much admit I've spent much of this year renting older films, and lots of those films aren't in Australia yet.
But I think the best I've seen at the movie this year off the top of my head is the hilariously funny Dodgeball.
I might have left a great one out though, but Dodgeball..hehe..he threw a wrench at the kid...hehe.
