I've recently come back from a small little film festival. I saw:

Peices Of April
The Cooler
American Splendor
The Secret Lives Of Dentists

I loved them all and I was wondering if any one else has seen any of them?

Oh yah, I think there all out on DVD now.

I've heard of them, but have actually never seen any. I was at Blockbuster today and was considering Pieces of April. Now I really want to check it out.

I have not seen "Pieces of April;" "The Cooler" was my least favorite of the other three, but still had some interesting touches and I love William H. Macy. "Dentists" and "Splendor" are among my favorite films of 2003. Both had great performances, sharp social commentary, and interesting narrative structures.

Never saw Pieces of April.

I saw The Cooler in theatres. It was mediocre. Good performances though.

I really enjoyed American Splendor. And really, I don't know why. It's pretty depressing. But there was just this feel to it that I liked.

I never got a chance to see Secret Lives of Dentists, though I wanted to and probably still will.

I saw peices of april I thought it was an ok film but I think others would like it very much. It has a real dv look to it i dont know if they shot on dv oe if that was the effect they were going for but I liked the way it looked. As for the others I have not seen them.

I saw Peices of April, and didn't care to mmuch for it. I guess it was alright but by far not the best movie of 03. The Cooler was pretty mediocre as well. I like Macy, but this was just a pointless film.Haven't seen Dentists, but have heard some interesting things about it. American splendor is by far the best out of the group, sure it was depressing but some great movies are (i.e. Blow). I really think it should have gotten more recognition.
