This film is being distributed as "Baadassss!" but that's the real title.

This was a great film. I'm a sucker for films about films and so I really enjoyed watching the low budget 70's filmmaking crew in action. It was a little painful to watch at times Melvin (the producer/writer/director/star of 'Sweetback) self destroy for his art (maybe it hit a little too close to home). It was also interesting watching Mario play his father in the film. And how Mario portrays himself as a child and his relationship with his father.

Anyway, anyone interested in black cinema, exploitation films, 70s films, films about films, how "Earth, Wind and Fire" got started, or the making of the film, "Sweet Sweetbacks Baad Asssss Song," this film is for you.
