Currently my favourite film of all-time.
Could it be the breath-taking black and white cinematography? Maybe the epic ballad of "Rhapsody in Blues"? Diane Keaton's and Merial Hemmingway's stunningly potrayed characters? Or the maybe the quaint and sometimes beautiful romantic story of true love?

Who knows. If you haven't seen it, I recommend anyone who even considers film as a profession see it, it made me want to make films.

I love Manhattan as well...but my all time favorite Woody Allen film is "Annie Hall" I love it. The comedy is just so hillarious! I love Allen's sarcasm.

I've seen Small Time Crooks, and was somewhat decieved. I heard Hollywood Ending isn't so good either.

Should I give the guy another chance, and try his older movies?

I hate his nervous dialogue. Takes an inhuman effort to understand his lines.

Oh! Just remembered a movie of his I liked : Sleeper!

I'm not a big fan of any of his recent films, like the ones you mentioned and "Curse of the Jade Scorpion" They are still good movies...but his older works are brillant.

For 1st Time Woody Allen Viewers:
Annie Hall (his best one)
Love & Death (very funny)
A Midsummer's Night Sex Comedy

Check 'em out.

I find it quite humorous and adds character.
