I just saw Going Upriver: The Long War Of John Kerry this weekend, I was drug in by a democratic friend of mine at our local movie theatre. I will admit i am Pro Bush and very conservative, but after watching this film... I HAVE to Vote for John F. Kerry. No logical person can watch this brilliant film and come out of it not thinking that Kerry will be the most capable man probably alive today to lead this nation forward. HE IS a genuine hero, in this film you see the sacrifices he had to make, he really did face enemy fire everyday, heck he even chased someone down and shot them who was about to fire a grenade into their swift Boat. There is no comparison between Bush and Kerry, none at all, Everyone do yourself a favor and go watch a young man become a hero. This man has done more than enough to earn one measly republican vote from me, i just feel its the least i can do after watching this excellent Documentary about an era, and how a man forced his country to look at itself. "How can you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?" Kerry 1971

The Film is about as far away from propaganda as you can get, its really a Documentary about an era and how the nation needed leadership and it came from our veterans from vietnam who knew we werent doing the right thing.

I'm not going to argue Kerry's war record with you. It is obvious that you're telling a story to try and get more asses in the seats for a propaganda film.
If you like the movie, fine. If you like Kerry, fine. If you're going to lie, at least do it well.

See this is just the kind of stuff that pisses me off, does this forum have a big sign or message at the top that says PLEASE TALK SH%$, NO! If you havent seen the movie and dont plan on seeing the movie because of what you think you know about JOhn Kerry from propaganda commercials then you guys are the ones being influenced by propaganda, watching this film is enlightening and it is the TRUTH. And if you dont have something to say about the film, or something positive to say about my reversal of candidates, then just go to ainitcoolnews.com and talk your trash over there!

So you're going to vote for someone based on 30 years ago?
I will admit, Bush's war record is just as shady as Kerry's, but that was 30 years ago.
Can we look at the issues at hand please?
I for one want you to not vote on someone's record 30 years ago. It was a stupid argument with Clinton, Bush, and it is with Kerry.
How many of us have made stupid choices when we were 18? Do you want that affecting whether or not you get elected if you ever decide to run for an office? Of course not! You would want people to look at a recent record and listen to what you say you are going to do!
Don't let a liberal made movie about a liberal encourage you to vote liberally. I would not let a conservative movie made about a conservative encourage me to vote conservatively.
Either way, it is propaganda, and if you are too stupid to see through that, then I reccomend you sit down and actually reconsider your life.

not that im taking sides - but ur all calling it propaganda (which it MIGHT be) w/out having even seen it-- cou*notsmart*gh
TOSFD - the movie sounds gr8, but certain material gets left out of certain things sometimes u know (cou*michaelmoore*gh - cou*foxnews*gh)? anyway now that uve gotten this kinda crap from everyone id say go back to the film and watch for possible biases (we all have them and can't escape from them as part of the human condition)-
and TP is right about sticking to current issues (although i saw where TOSFD was coming from by looking at Mr. Kerry's past experiences and choices)
