The Baltimore Women's Film Festival is now accepting entries for its 2009 events. The festival is dedicated and focused on seeking out and promoting cinema created by and for women. This non-profit festival is held during October- breast cancer awareness month. Half ticket sales go to support women with breast cancer at The Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Center.

The regular deadline for Submission is April 27, 2009. The late deadline is May 11th, 2009. The festival is open to films directed, written, shot, animated, produced or edited by a woman. The festival also screens movies which focus on themes that are highly relevant to women and films with outstanding performances by an actress or actresses. Festival competitive categories include Documentary, Feature Film, Short Comedy, Short Drama, Music Videos, Experimental Films and Animated Films. The Baltimore Women's Film Festival also has a local filmmaker's showcase highlighting films by Baltimore and Washington DC area filmmakers, and an International Women's Filmmaker Showcase highlighting films from outside the US. In 2009, The Baltimore Women's Film Festival will also showcase a series of "Green Films" on Environmentally Related Topics.
