The project has gathered momentum in the Imperial Beach Business Community and has the potential to be a significant addition to our city's cultural events calendar for many years to come. Imperial Beach provides the combination of closeness to a major metropolitan city - San Diego - while still retaining the small town feel of a California beach community.

In addition to attracting new visitors to Imperial Beach, the Imperial Beach Film Festival has several other positive elements going for it that will make it beneficial:
• The Festival will provide student film makers an outlet to show their creativity and their work.
• We are located in Southern California; close enough to Los Angeles to attract important sponsorship dollars and interest from the Hollywood film community.
• Plans currently include the exclusive use of the digital film format, which is the fastest-growing single segment of the film industry and the format most readily available to student film makers.
• The Festival plans to include an educational element for student filmmakers, allowing them to learn experts in the field, in addition to having their work seen.
• We plan to keep Festival registration fees low enough to encourage a wide spectrum of entrants.

We hope you will be able to participate in the Imperial Beach Film Festival. For more information regarding the festival or for more information about Imperial Beach, California, please contact me.

Thanks
