Save The Illinois River invites filmmakers to enter the Spring 2011 STIR Film
Competition. $1,000 total in prize money will be awarded. There is no limit on the number of films entered for judging, but each entry will require a nonrefundable $25 processing fee.

Objective of this Competition:
Save The Illinois River (STIR) is a nonprofit organization which is dedicated to the enjoyment, preservation and protection of the Illinois River, its watershed and its tributaries. In order to carry out its mission, STIR invites filmmakers to submit their productions which reflect a passion for the Illinois River. Entries may be documentary or creative, and may be of any reasonable length. STIR would like permission to show the outstanding winning entry at events, meetings and venues.

Additional Information:
It is anticipated that some or all filmmakers may be invited to participate in a public screening of select films, which may or may not require an admission fee. Each filmmaker by entering gives a ‘limited use right’ of promotional excerpts in order to advertise an Illinois River film series, an Illinois River Film Festival, an Illinois River Arts Festival celebrating the films, music and art inspired by the Illinois River, etc.

The 2011 Competition is the first of what we anticipate may be a recurring annual event.

How to Enter:
Each entry must be accompanied by a signed entry form, which requires the filmmaker to be personally responsible for the film’s artistic and legal content. Filmmakers may submit their entries any time, and the deadline for being included in judging is March 15, 2010. Judging will be based solely on the opinions of the judging panel.

Package and submit before the deadline of March 15, 2011 the following:
1. DVD and duplicate (nonreturnable).
2. Entry Form and $25 Entry Fee by check, cashier’s check or money order. Note the Entry Fee is waived for filmmakers who are age 18 and younger.
