I agree with REDking. Chemical alteration of the brain really has no place to be discussed here, let alone supported, especially by a moderator.

quote:
all the Salvia in the world couldn't make a hack into a shaman.

this is true....the expirence from salvia...as ive said before...comes from within the mind...meaning its already there...so no...a hack wouldent come up with anything...we are in agreement...

the problem with that is...niether I nor the original poster is a hack...and i wouldent expect anyone to think of themselves as such....i know uwe boll dosent think of himself as a hack...

"It's a shame that a population of young adults who are naturally curious about all life experiences would be falling for the "complete transcendence of time..." horseshizz."

There is no falling for it...there is no illusion....salvia is what it is...and you seem to be having a hard time understanding that.

it is simply a tool...we might as well stop drinking coffee to help wake us up or keep us up...or energy drinks, or soda...whatever your vise...we should stop enjoying chocolate..because it has the power to change moods, it is basically a mild aphrodisiac...."dont eat chocolate young people, you may trick your mind into becoming horny" you might as well be saying.

"I just want any of the young highschoolers who read these forums to realize that there is no badge of honor in removing yourself from reality through chemicals"

how we sense reality is all based on chemicles...from pheramones...to endorphines...adrenaline...every hormone imaginable...all chemicles...and all effect our reality...salvia dosent remove you from reality....you simply sense it diffrently...

"Maybe next time someone is offered Salvia that kid will tell them to shove it up thier azz.

And a final note that moderators should not be condoning the use of Salvia it reflects poorly on the site."

please....spare us....its about as bad as drinking a coffee ..or a soda...or energy drink...it releases chemicals in the body....so its as bad as playing a game of basketball...having sex...taking a jog...

i guess if i suggested these things the moderators shouldent have condoned them either...huh?

Regardless of how you feel about drinking coffee in relation to drug use, it's completely off topic. It's not fair for the original poster, who was looking for legitimate feedback, to have to have this closed just because someone wanted to discuss how open minded they were about salvia use, and completely high-jack his thread. Keep it on track please.

the thread may have gone off topic a little bit...however i still stand my original post...as it remains relevant to the original post...

"It's not fair for the original poster, who was looking for legitimate feedback, to have to have this closed just because someone wanted to discuss how open minded they were about salvia use"

its also not fair for the thread to be closed just because someone wanted to discuss how close minded they were about salvia use....

no need to single one person out in a discussion between two people...unless you have a bias....and i would hope as a mod.....you wouldent...

im done....no more salvia talk.....peace...

To discuss this issue was a decision of discernment on my part.
I believed defending the responsible use of a legal and harmless substance was ethically reasonable given my responsibilities as a moderator.
If my judgment call shed any unfavorable light on studentfilms.com, I apologize.

On a different note, hopefully stinkyfish will return to read all the good opinions/feedback concerning his sci-fi pitch, seeing as he has not visited in over a month.

I think it's a well natured debate now if he can work Salvia into his script then bang we're back on-topic!

But because I'm a bit retarded I have to point out what a stunningly false analogy comparing Salvia to chocolate was. Caffeine and Chocolate are exactly as involved and mind altering as Salvia, if you doubt me take a bong rip of salvia hop in your car and go for a ride. Now do the same with a soda and tell me if they are still on the same level.

Oh well this thread is so f-ing bizarre! But it didn't really turn into a flame-off so at least we can agree to disagree!

Thanks for all of the comments. Sorry for the long delay. Due to a recent move, this is the first chance i have had to log on and read everyones comments. Unfortunately i havent made any real progress with my little Sci-Fi project, Ive just been too busy.

I think i might take REDKing's advice and try to write a synopsis and then register it. Thats much more feasable than a complete script. I wasnt aware you could even do that.

I really appreciate everyones suggestions and comments.

I will keep everyone updated on my progress, if you guys are still interested?

Thanks

I agree. REDKing.
Though I like some cannabis sometimes ( and lately loads), it actually don't put me in any place my own imagination could take me.

Ok, a little bit to relax, to joy with friends, etc... That's is ok.
Other than that, it's useless.

Hi, I think you idea is very good. I also like a lot of the feedback your getting so I figured I could give you my 2 cents.

If you want to go the route of a alien-esk ark that the people get through 2012 in, and you are thinking NOT to go with Roswell and Area 51, you could try something more with the other features on Earth that some say are seemingly linked to aliens. You could use the Pyramids or even a Atlantis like area underwater that avoids 2012. I think some people are sick of Roswell and Area 51 but thats just because so many (mostly bad but not all) sci-fi films are linked to those. Don't be afraid to use past ideas, just re-invent that.
