Where to hold auditions for free?

Anyone have any ideas besides a library, where I can hold auditions for a no-budget short film? Most places charge an hourly rental fee that is too high for our budget. And, libraries are often times too quiet. We tried the library meeting room one time, but one of the actresses got REALLY LOUD during a Terminator monologue, so we got kicked out.

Anyone have any better ideas?

I know this is a year old, but I'd figure I'd answer it anyway.

Depending on where you are going to be shooting, sometimes asking one of the locations you'll be filming at if you could hold auditions there as well.

Most of the time they'll probably let you for free. My luck has been: All it takes is asking.

Another recommendation is if it's for HS, JC, or State/Uni is to ask the teacher/instructor or professor places at the school that you could use as auditions. Maybe ask the drama teacher if you could use the auditorium/stage if it's not busy. If not there, maybe an unused classroom after school.

If all else fails, your house or apt may do the trick, or outside. Just depends on what's available. The biggest hurdle is asking and then if the location wants to know what you will be filming - explain it to them and see if they agree. All they can say is no and if they do you move on. But if they say yes - you should be good to go!
