hey chris, i've been meaning to ask, is it OK to link to a bit of a movie (or a trailer) on my own webspace IF i'm asking for opinions or advice or something and not just promoting it?

it'd be part of the project i'll be putting up here anyway.

I don't know - it's a slippery slope.

I don't have a problem with people posting links here and there - it's when they abuse it that I have a problem. (Hence the wording of the rule "Please Refrain")

If it is part of a project that you'll be submitting to Studentfilms.com then it is fine.

i've done it once or twice in the past - said like "here's a trailer i've been working on - any suggestions before i put it up on my site?" and stuff. usually get some helpful ideas. and yes, it's all for a huge project - SOME part of it will eventually be on here.
