Welcome to Studentfilms.com, the online film discussion forum for filmmakers and students who are applying to film school, attending film school, need advice on making films, or just want to share their films with the world.
I'm going to be posting a topic like this each time I add new films, to make it easier to find them and to make it more apparent that there are new films on the site.
Anyway, thanks, Chris, for doing that, I really appreciate it. And the timing couldn't be better, too, lol...well, anyway, I know my little promo video is no match for these other movies designed specifically for sci-fi, animation, and documentary fans. After all, my video was designed for a museum, so I can understand the mostly subpar feedback I've gotten on this film so far, as well as my other film. At first I was confused and a little disappointed how the very enthusiastic feedback I got from my audience here in Connecticut didn't at all match the feedback I got here, but now I understand how people here take a very objective viewpoint to my subjective films, and how mediocre rating averages result (but don't worry, I do see what you guys are talking about when you describe the specific flaws in my videos). And from now on, I promise every film I send to the site from this point on will only be made for either me, you guys, or both, because truth be told, I'm tired of making videos in which I have to please other people. And rest assured when I do make films for myself, I will do my 110% best, because I wouldn't have it any other way. And I will take into consideration every suggestion and criticism you guys have said, and make sure you guys get to see the end result. I want to start learning what it's like to make films for the true filmmaking experience, and the fact that practically every other filmmaker on this site has already learned this further motivates me to make this a very important goal. But for now, I gotta give props to Chris for making sure my film finds every single audience member it's capable of finding (and this amount of audience members may not be a lot, under the circumstances)...back when I submitted my Washington video, I would have given anything to be sure of that.
