You need to download Firefox to have it work on a Mac with OSX.

That's what I'm using. (I use it just for the chatrooms actually)

As a side note, if I'm around I'm going to leave myself logged into the chatrooms if you have any questions or want to chat.

I might be away from the computer so you might have to be patient. But I'll be around.

A way to revitalize the Chat Room

what if at the very start of an hour some people went into the chat room for a minute. Just stay inside for a whole minute, and leave if no one enters. If a few people did this it could work. Instead of entering at random times people who want to chat will know the exact time to show up. The desktop clock for most people is very similar minutewise because most clocks automatically syncronize to gov't or windows.com time which are identical. Otherwise you could check at www.time.gov

One minute may not seem like enough time, but the smaller the window the more likeley people run into eachother. Depending on how popular this gets its important that everyone shoots for the same first minute and not get used to entering late. If this grows it'll be more lenient, and people might enter at top of the hour knowing others will be on shortly. Please remeber that there might be 15 members in the Forum, 4-5 may want to chat, or maybe no one. But I think this is the best system to try either way.

The only problem now is letting everyone know. Only a handfull of people will read this post, so the idea it needs more attention.

I'm trying to figure how to get the word out, maybe you can help. A few people are using my signature. If you want I cam email or AIM the whole code. Or you can just copy the numbers and change the rest up a bit (I'd suggest making the #'s stand out)

while i do like this idea,
i think chris should delete all the chats, with the exception of ONE, and then have it a ONCE a week chat, with a specific time, closed only until that certain time frame.

that way,
nobody will be able to enter, and then people will know that the chat is only on (for example)
Sundays from 3-6PST 6-9EST....

then we will actually HAVE people in the chats.

so thats my idea...
once a week chat, with a date and time that everyone will know. that way, the chats actually have people, instead of being a dead space...

Well, I like the General Filmmaking chat, but the others seem so neglected.
I like the idea of everyone meeting at a specific time, but sometimes I work late (or too early) ir I am busy. And I am not going to ask off work so I can chat.
Leave it open 24/7. I know Sumarabba and I run into eachother a lot. Mostly in the 11:00am to 3:00pm time frame. (At least where I live). Heck, Big Movie and Kyle and I even run into eachother quite a bit at random times in the day.
I noticed that not as many people are on around 6:00pm. probably because of dinner or something. That's cool.
Did anyone make sense of that rambling?
