Toronto - Humber College

I applied to a number of schools in late Jan to early Feb, and so far I have been rejected by all of the except Humber College, which put me on a waiting list. I called them up to see if I could find out where I stood on the list, and one of the admissions directors told me that I was in the top 3. So let's take the worst case scenario and say I am third. Has anyone here gone to Humber or been accepted, that can tell me if my chances of getting in are realistic. Everybody tells me that I shouldn't worry, but if I get rejected, my only other choice is to go to a private school and I heard those aren't the best options.

Is there anybody out there who can tell me if my chances are realistic or give me any ideas about what to do in case I am rejected.

Thank You.

Hey, well I was going to one of those private schools and didn't apply to colleges or universities until May. When I did so, I was obviously rejected by some despite my high grades. I got into Sheridan for a media course, but was put on a waiting list. They said I was high up and due to this, I got accepted.

I chose to go to Western anyway when I got accepted, but thats not the point. It is a little late to be on a waiting list, but I think you've got a shot. 3 might be a little low, considering it's almost July. I've been in a similiar position until recently so I wish you the best of luck and I think you might get in.

Thanks for the info.

To specify my situation, I was put on the list during the first week of may, and I last called the school on the 25th of may so I am top 3 as of that date. My theory is that they are holding off on telling people until all of the confirmations are in. I heard that some students have until July 16th to get their tuitions in. I plan to call the school tomorrow morning and see if they can update me on my status.

To anyone interested, I got in.

Now I have to wait yet again. Only 2 months until I can raid the school's equipment room.
