hey there,
i'm european and considering a US film school for my studies. i have a couple of basic questions who's answers might appear terribly obvious to you, but i find it quite hard seeing through all the different regulations in each country that i want to apply in. so i'd be really grateful if someone could help me out.

question 1: is a SAT exam obligatory in every school, even for foreigners (with their own country-specific school graduation exams)?

question 2: i've worked in the film industry for about 4 years now, doing work in almost every department. i've also worked on a lot of student films and have directed myself. is there any possibility of doing grad school without an undergraduate degree...? i'm sure i sound terribly naive, but i can't get used to the idea of having to do 4 years until i'm able to go to a grad course. is there any way a school might accept my 4 years of experience as sufficient qualification to enter a grad program....?

Those are not naive questions, I assure you - I know the answer to neither. I really wish I could help!

I can speculate that most universities will accept foreign exams, but probably only very specific ones and it will likely vary between institutions. As for grad programs, I have no idea. If that is a problem, it really shouldn't be, as long as your work holds up!

Answer 1: I think the SAT's are required for any student. However, I'm sure a check on any University's International Student Services website will tell you everything you need to know.

Answer 2: must you have an undergrad degree in film to go to film grad school? No, of course not. However, you MUST have an undergrad degree in something to go to film grad school, or any graduate school for that matter.
