SVA 2 part essay?

I'm currently working on my application for SVA. Their two part essay is confusing. I understand that the first part is a narrative story in prose. The second part in which we have to adapt our first part into cinematic terms sounds like a screenplay but isn't? Should it be written in paragraph/prose form?

I looked up SVA on this site and read another older post on the same topic but I didn't really find any good/up-to-date responses. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Also, I've done the online application that ends in the 500 word statement of intent. How/where are we supposed to submit our two part essay? Other portfolio applicants are supposed to upload their pictures etc. to some site, but where do the essays go? Do we have to mail it in paper form?

Thanks.

The part two is use cinematic terms for example "Jane, 42 sits at her computer desk. An extreme close up on her fingertips as they dance upon the computer keys. The camera pans across the whole office showing Jane's enthusiasm compared to her co-workers." I assumed to use camera terms in paragraph form, that's what I did when I applied.

Last year when I was applying I went in for an interview and was able to turn in my application. I would definitely go in for an interview if you can too. Anything else just ask.

I was at SVA. I dropped out at the beginning of October.

In the beginning I loved SVA but now I don't like it at all. It's all personal preference I think when it comes to schools. I loved my editing classes out of the all the classes. My english class was a total joke- my teacher made us read a novel and then he reread it back to us page by page. The second class he read our papers and just criticized them and bashing them not really explaining what we needed to improve and I got the feeling he expects everyone to be the worlds greatest writer but we're not- everyone goes for film not to go to school to be a writer (not counting script writing ha)

Other than that I just didn't like it, I never felt like I should have been there. I'm looking into NYU and USC and just looking a little bit into Full Sail.
