I am looking to transfer soon, and was wondering if anyone knows anything about these film programs? I been reading about Collumbia in Chicago, but I am not sure about the rest. I want to get into independent films and documentrys mostly. The block busters dont intrest me so much (for now at least). I also want to write/direct/shoot/edit films, so would want a school that would help teach me about all of these for the most part. I been going to a Community College (Junior College) to explor more of the different areas of film.

(PS. I am from South California and so looking at schools not in Southern Cali more so just to get some new experiences and to open my eyes more to the rest of the world).

Some questions I have about these:

How is the teaching staff?

How is the equipment?

Is the school aimed at block busters, independents, documentarys, etc.?

How is the neighboring comunities? (good places to shoot and lots of willing people to help with it for free or cheap)

Do you need a car to get around or is the public transportation sufficient or is it wonderful?

How much does it cost to go there roughly as a junior? (from CA, so might have to pay out of state taxes)

How are the dorms and/or appartments around there? (cost and living qualities)

I know that there are alot more questions I can ask, but these are the 1s that come up to mind right away and I have to get going soon. Thank you again for your help.
