What schools are on your long list?

On my list (Some are random/don't really know a lot about)
- Syracuse University
- Ithaca College
- Hofstra University
- Art Center College of Design
- Columbia College Chicago
- Long Island University: CW Post
That's all I can remember right now (I didn't include the bigger ones as you can tell)

The Los Angeles Film School is actually putting out a lot of money to get people into their program; expanding on a lot of resources such as a soundstage and all of that jazz. However, personally, I don't know if I want to apply there just yet due to issues of legitimacy.

I would try Loyola Marymount though. I heard that you don't really need high scores to get in and its program is a couple of notches under Chapman. Which is no bad thing.

I know you said you were looking for colleges in california or new york and I agree that those are the ideal cities to be for a film student. However, if you are really worried about your grades maybe you should look into columbia college chicago because it seems to have a great program that emphasizes getting the student ready for the real world. They also have a semester in LA program for the film students. So its something to consider as a safety school because you will definitely get in with their high acceptance rate. I applied to emerson, loyola marymount, columbia college chicago, chapman, USC, and NYU. Bottom line: columbia college is a good safety school. Best of luck! Smile
